What you’ll do:
Eaton is looking for a Fuel & Hydraulics Specialist Engineer to develop Eaton Aerospace products at the Eaton European Innovation Center in Prague (EEIC), Czech Republic. This individual will be responsible for technical leadership of building new hydraulics and fuel test rigs, engineering duties, development and testing with key focus on aircraft airframe and engine fuel and hydraulic systems. The individual will be a member of the EEIC Aerospace team and will report to the Aerospace Manager located in EEIC.
Job responsibilities
- Technical lead in building new hydraulics and fuel test cells
- Technical specification for hydraulics and fuel test cells (hydraulic installation, electrical installation, control system, data acquisition, hydraulic circuits, heating system, cooling system, motor drives, loads, etc.)
- Safety requirements (test cells, control rooms, tanks, ventilation, ATEX, etc.). Communication with local authorities.
- Bill of material definition, creating purchase requests, preparation of public tenders, communication with suppliers
- Supervising building of hydraulic and fuel test cells
- Preparation Czech and EU grant proposals for investment and R&D projects
- Lead hydraulic and fuel systems testing (development, qualification, certification tests)
- R&D of new hydraulic and fuel products and systems. Participation in building prototypes and new test configurations
- Support control system and data acquisition configurations, analyze experimental data
- Secure compliance with internal and external standards and regulations.
- Participate in new product and technology development projects
- Coordinate with counterparts in US and UK on development programs and provide input to NRE estimates, review customer specifications, and develop related test requirements.
- Contribute to the Aerospace Test ERG and FMC test organization activities.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Master´s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in hydraulics or fuel systems and components development, testing and design within aerospace, automotive or industrial field.
- Knowledge of electro-hydraulic, hydro-mechanical and hydraulic systems, hydraulic components, hydraulic fluids and filtration principles
- Knowledge of hydraulic circuit design and its thermal management
- Basic knowledge of data acquisition systems (NI LabView)
- Knowledge of control systems and controls tuning (VFD, motor controllers, hydraulic control systems)
- Proven history of designing and executing new product development programs - hydraulic or fuel systems design, testing and validation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skills in 3-D modeling and mechanical design using common CAD tools (e.g. Creo or SolidWorks);
- Skills in mathematical modelling and simulation of hydraulic systems (Matlab/Simulink Simscape, Amesim, etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes
- Experience with aerospace requirements and standards (RTCA DO-160G, EASA CS, etc.)
- Experience working in diverse cultural situations with global customers and team members
